Where?
Auditions will be held at the Pinnacle Playhouse, 256 Pinnacle Street, Belleville
What?
We are looking for actor-singers, as well as musician-actors!
For the actor-singers:
Please prepare a song in the style of the show (R&B, Motown, Doo Wop), but please do not sing a song from this show. Choose a song that shows off your range and vocal talents!
It's not necessary, but it gives your audition an overall better feel if you have some sort of accompaniment. Either sheet music (which can be easily found and purchased online), or having a YouTube track ready, music can help you feel more confident, and can make your overall audition more impactful. We will have an accompanist available, and something will also be available to play tracks (with no vocals) on mp3's and C.D.'s. You could also bring along a bluetooth speaker if you have one to connect to a track you have on your smart phone or tablet.
You WILL NOT be required to have a monologue prepared, but you will do some "cold reading" from the script.
There will be a small and simple dance audition (just enough for us to see if you have some basic co-ordination), so wear clothing that is comfortable.
Last, but not least, take a little time to get acquainted with the show. See what the feel of the show is, and see what sort of role you might picture yourself in. Your audition will be better if you know what part you want, and you'll be more confident at the audition.
For the musician-actors:
Please prepare a short, 32 measure selection in the style of the show (R&B, Motown, Doo Wop).
As a musician-actor you will be onstage throughout the show, so be prepared to show us some of your acting skills!
We are looking for pianists, drummers, electric guitarists, and bassists.
